Questions About Cellular Phones Answered
| |
|
by: Alex Fit
| |
|
1. What's the difference between analog and digital phones?
Analog phones operate on an older and less effective technology. This technology doesn't scale well and is more costly. Analog service is not compatible with numerous new features. Digital phones are lighter and more compact and have a longer battery life. When you are inside of a calling area the quality is better than analog. Digital phones support new features like caller ID, text messaging or wireless internet services. 2. What is a Dual Band Phone? A Dual band phone is a phone that can operate on an analog and digital service. 3. What type of battery has the longest life? Lithium-Ion or Li-Ion batteries have the longest life. They also happen to be the lightest in weight. The two pluses means there is minus attached, which is price. A li-ion battery will always be the most expensive type of battery available. 4. What's the difference between the Stand-by time and Talk time? Your phone is in standby mode when your phone is on but you aren't talking. The power consumption is minimal and the phone can stay in this mode for a longer period of time. When you are using the phone you are using talk time. This consumes battery power at a much quicker rate. Your battery life will be somewhere between talk time and standby time 5. What is a roaming charge? A roaming charge is when you make a call from outside of your calling area. Your calling area is defined by plan local, regional or national. 6. What are peak and off peak hours? Peak hours are during the day when the cellular networks are very busy. These minutes are at premium and your plan will typically include the smallest amount of these. If you use more than your allotted peak minutes they will be billed at a much higher rate than off peak minutes. Off peak is the exact opposite of peak time. Each cellular provider has their own definition of off peak. 7. What are anytime minutes? Anytime minutes are simply put minutes you can use anytime, peak or off peak. On most plans you will use anytime minutes first. 8. Do I pay for the call when someone calls me? Usually yes. You are billed for the airtime when you receive a call. However some service providers are offering unlimited in network calls. 9. Should I buy a cell phone or look for a free cellular phone? Free phones generally speaking don't have the latest features, they are anywhere from 6 to 12 months behind. Also, free cell phones generally come with longer contracts. But, it is still possible to get a great deal on a free cell phone. 10. What to do if you want to upgrade/downgrade or cancel your service plan? You can usually upgrade to higher plan without any cost. Some may force you to extend your contract for 1 to 2 years from that point. Downgrading your plan is often times not an option and when it is there is usually a penalty or fine.

Summer Computer Tips
|
|
by: Sharron Senter
|
Written By: Sharron Senter #1 – Summer Computer Travel Holiday travelers should be on alert when arriving home from long weekends, such as the Fourth of July, a popular time for computer viruses to spread. Most computer users have a tendency to turn off their computers when away on trips, which means you’re not getting newly-released anti-virus patches or anti-spyware updates; the two most common areas that cause computers problems. We recommend you update anti-virus and anti-spyware scans before opening e-mail or going online after an extended absence. We consistently see an increase in calls for virus related problems immediately following long weekends. Avoid the problems altogether by updating your security software before using your computer. For a free listing of viruses, spyware threats and trends, visit: www.VisitingGeeks.com/downloads.htm #2 -- Should You Leave Your Computer Running? One question we hear frequently is, "Should I leave my desktop computer on or turn it off?" There are 2 schools of thought… Turning it on and off numerous times during the day subjects the microcircuits to flexing and fatigue due to change in temperatures. Over time this could lead to a break in the circuitry and result in system failure. Leaving the computer on all the time puts excess wear on the mechanical components (the hard drive spindle motor and cooling fans). Best compromise. First user in the morning turns it on; last user turns it off. We leave our desktops on all the time allowing for scheduled utility tasks to run during overnight hours. We also restart the systems (to flush the RAM and reset the operating system) on a regular basis and routinely remove the case covers to clean out any dust that may have accumulated, especially around the fans and screens. #3 -- Stop Popups! Never click inside the window of a popup. Instead, close it by clicking on the X in the upper right corner. Many people are fooled into installing spyware applications by popups that promise to clean their system. If you receive a message saying it can help, assume it’s spyware and don’t click! Steps to Start Your Weight Loss Program
|
|
by: Nicholas Webb
|
| Remember there’s more to you than meets the
eye. You’ve got personality, brains, feelings… in short, all those things that
make you, YOU. So why diet? After all, you’re more than just a body, and things
that really matter can’t be measured on a scale. That said, there are some very good sound reasons for dieting. After all, dieting is not just for weight loss or weight gain. No, the true meaning of ‘diet’ is in choosing foods and setting eating habits that will keep you healthy, strong, and feeling your best. It takes planning and dedication. It means setting goals and following through. But it doesn’t have to be a chore. No, with the right tools it can even be fun … especially when you start to see the results that you’re looking for! Before, choosing a diet, there are five extremely simple Steps, which if you really apply you will probably end up losing weight without even trying! Doesn’t that sound interesting. Really No kidding … try the following: Step 1) Always sit down when you eat, preferable at a table. Don’t eat while standing, walking, driving or talking on the phone. Step 2) Don’t read or watch television while you eat. Step 3) Eat only when your stomach is empty. At least 3 to 4 hours from your last meal. Step 4) Don’t take a bite until you’ve already swallowed the previous bite. Obvious? Try observing people and you’ll see them stuffing their mouths, which are still full. They probably talk at the same time! So, bite, chew, swallow, bite, chew, swallow. Step 5) Don’t eat when you’re not hungry. No, I’m being serious and I know that this sounds stupid. For example when at home wait 5 minutes before taking second helpings. If you wait, you’ll probably find that you’re no longer hungry, whereas if you don’t wait you could probably eat thirds! Remember … Wait five minutes before taking more. A good diet doesn’t end when you finally reach your target goal. Maintaining good nutrition, regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle is a continuing process. Only this will give you the energy to face the challenges of your busy day, boost your self-image, and make you look and feel better. And there’s no feeling like the satisfaction when you achieve your goals by sticking to a sensible, healthy, diet plan. Besides, where would we be without food? Changing your diet to prevent or reverse heart disease, reduce your blood pressure, or to get the better of your diabetes and, naturally to reach your desired weight, is not just a matter of cutting out butter and eggs and counting the amount of fat grams you eat each day. For instance, most Americans get close to 40% of their calories from fat! This is twice the recommended amount if you already suffer from heart disease. There are many misconceptions and confusion concerning fat these days, some seem to make sense, others are just plain dumb! Remember, concerning fat, several things are now known for sure. It is known that most of us eat too much fat and that obesity is a major health concern, increasing the risk for heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, back pain and cancer. It is also known that saturated fat, more than anything else, is responsible for increasing our cholesterol levels. I know it’s weird, but it’s been found, ironically, that when people focus exclusively on eliminating cholesterol from their daily diet they may unknowingly move on to a diet high in saturated fats! Some people decide to become vegetarian, leaving out meat and eggs, but the salad dressings, nuts and peanut butter, for instance, do more damage than a lean steak! Message: be careful what you eat, you may be surprised. For more heart health related information visit www.AllAbout-Heart-Disease.com - a site that offers user-friendly articles, tips and advice for avoiding heart disease, getting the edge on risk factors and living your life to the full! |

Hot Internet Businesses For 2005
|
|
by: Nowshade Kabir
|
If you are planning to start a new business in 2005, you should seriously consider one of the many Internet based businesses available today. The online businesses have numerous inherent advantages in comparison to their brick and mortar counterparts. Investment is relatively small The basic elements to start an online business are the followings: a good product or service, an online presence, and a good marketing plan. All these things can be done on a shoe-string budget. You won’t require more than US$ 2000 to start any of the business described below. In most of the cases, the investment can be even lower. Quick to launch Once you know, what products or services you are going to sell, you can, basically, start your business within three to four weeks. Some of the online businesses don’t even take more than two to three days to start. Large audience Internet is big and it’s getting bigger! Whatever business you prefer to start, Internet allows you to tap instantly into a huge number of potential customers, which is, virtually, impossible to do with a brick and mortar enterprise. Huge growth potential With the Internet, sky is the limit! If you have a good product, service or idea, you can create a dot com behemoth over night! Smart guys are doing this! Internet success examples are abound. Work from home The best thing about online business is you can take care of it even while you are on vacation. No office is necessary; you work from home, if that is what you prefer. Less paper work Since starting for your quotation and purchase orders to the invoices and shipment tracking, everything is done online; you hardly have to do any paper work. Check out an example of how easy it is to manage your business processes online at http://www.rusbiz.com/deal_manage.html Flexible time schedule No longer have you had to work nine to five! You set your own schedules. Although, with any new business, initially, you have to work very hard, however, the time flexibility allows you to do other important things whenever it’s necessary. There is no limit to Internet business ideas. Savvy entrepreneurs are constantly coming up with mind-boggling online projects and striking rich in no time. Here I have chosen several of the online businesses with great upward potential with proven success history. Selling information If you are asked, what do you do on the Internet most of the time? The answer, most probably, will be searching or retrieving information. You are not alone! A survey conducted by Neilsen Media Research shows that Books and Information Category tops the highest selling product and service on the Internet with a significant margin in comparison to other categories. This makes information a natural product for sale on the Internet. Information sells online in the formats of e-books, articles, reports, data, whitepapers etc. If you have expertise in any specific field, you may consider selling your ideas in one of the mentioned format. Check out Clickbank’s marketplace to get a good idea what people are selling. You will be truly amazed by the scope of ideas! Resources |

1,001 Deals and Steals: A Guide To Online
Classifieds
|
|
by: Donald Lee
|
Some naysayers way back in the 1990s predicted that online shopping wouldn’t last. Sure, and they said television was a passing fad, too! As we all know, just the opposite has occurred. There’s a television in every household, and more than likely, the homeowner bought their television online—along with his books, music CDs, clothes, and maybe even his home. Internet shopping is bigger than ever. You can find anything and everything for sale online. Many times, you can find it cheaper online than anywhere else. Internet shopping offers so much more than a discounted price tag, though. Imagine a shopping mall where there are no lines, where there are no jammed parking garages, and no pushy sales clerks. This is no land of make believe. It is the Internet, where you can discover unprecedented selection, convenience, and opportunities. Online shopping gives you the luxury of browsing hundreds of stores from your living room, while saving on time and frustration. It provides you the chance to compare prices to your heart’s delight on a near limitless selection of brands and models. For even more benefits, try your hand at classifieds and auction Web sites. These sites are like yard sales and flea markets rolled into one. Unlike retail shopping sites, they offer: Access to super secondary markets. Take your pick of secondhand or brand-new wholesale goods at steeply discounted prices. The vendors at classifieds sites can get away with it because they aren’t paying high rent for a storefront or a warehouse. And in many cases, you’re not paying taxes. Tools to locate unique and rare collectibles. Imagine a classifieds site to be like a sunken pirate boat, laden with cultural artifacts, hard-to-find heirlooms, and priceless antiques. The Internet is your deep-sea vessel, sonar, and oxygen tank all in one. Reach beyond your neighborhood. Search through the inventory of a vendor from your home town, or if you don’t find what you’re looking for there, try that fellow in California, Texas or Canada for that matter. Close relationships with vendors. You deal with real people—not big, impersonal corporations—when you buy on classifieds sites. They can provide more details about the product, which you can then use to bargain for a reasonable price. Despite this bounty of benefits, you might still be hesitant to dive into Internet shopping. Don’t be embarrassed. You have good reason to take your time and weigh your choices. According to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, Internet fraud tops the list of the thousands of fraud cases that happen every year. In some ways, WWW could stand for the Wild West Web, in that anything goes. Vendors can be villains in disguise, and there aren’t any online Wyatt Earps to protect you from these bad guys. You’re on your own. But give yourself some credit. You have the common sense it takes to survive the WWW. It is the same commonsense that helps you make the most of your money on your standard shopping trips. Become familiar and comfortable with an online vendor before jumping into a purchase. Ask questions and do a bit of research. After doing your research, you’ll feel more confident in searching for your online booty. To refine your findings and whittle your list to only the exceptional sites, look for these additional qualities:
Unbelievably, a few trustworthy, practical, and exciting Web sites exist that have all of these features. To find these websites, simply browse through Yahoo’s directory under the classifieds category. The best of the online classified sites offer these services free to buyers such as you. Some of these sites can link you at no charge to your neighbor selling the antique lamp that you’ve been hunting for or that retiree looking to unload an incredible piece of real estate—or the cowboy looking to sell his big-screen television. "Explosive Success Via Email!"
|
|
by: A. T. Rendon
|
| There is no doubt in anyone's mind that email
is the most important communications development in the history of the world thanks to the Internet. The reason is simple. We can now communicate on a global scale in a matter of minutes. This is an awesome power and responsibility. The power is the act of communication itself. The responsibility comes in making use of this power in a reasonable and non-spam manner. That is why it is so important to establish a mailing list of people that have agreed to receive your email messages. You can either build your list in a slow but steady manner, as detailed in our FREE Report, "Starting Your Own Newsletter!", available to you FREE of charge via auto-responder by email at: mailto:free_report@emailexchange.org Or you can pay one of those online services to send out emails as confirmations whenever they post a free ad on the networks system. Either way, here are a few tips to "Explosively Increase the Success of ANY Email Advertising Campaign!" 1. Your Subject Line is the MOST Important Element. The 'Subject Line' will either get your email read or immediately deleted. It is the single most important element of your email message. If you have a bad 'Subject Line' then you may as well not even bother sending out the email in the first place. Whatever time you invest on preparing your email campaign, make the 'Subject' of the email your top priority to provide you the opportunity to have a successful email campaign. 2. Use Action Words. Action words bring your message to life for the reader. They can help you convey to your target audience the importance of your over-all message. For a FREE List of the Top 50 Action Words, send an email to: mailto:action_words@emailexchange.org 3. Do NOT OVER Capitalize. Some Capitalized letters are essential but too many can convey the sense of shouting and no one likes to be shouted at. Worse still, your message can take on a cluttered or amateurish look if you use all capital letters. 4. Do NOT use too many Exclamation points! Same problem can arise here as with the use of too many capital letters. Do not risk having that a cluttered and amateurish look to draw attention to your message. Your message itself should do the work of attraction. 5. Personalize When Possible. If you have an email program that allows you to PERSONALIZE your email messages, make use of it by making the 'Subject' message a personal one for the reader. I make use of the FREE Aureate Group Mailing Software which has that feature built in and allows me to 'Personalize" all email that I send to my various lists. To download your own FREE copy of this Email Program visit at: http://www.infacta.com/download.asp 6. Keep it 6 to 8 words maximum. A short Subject Title Line is better because if you make it too long, many of the email programs in use will actually cut off your 'Subject' message and make it either unreadable or at the least, unappealing. Make liberal use of these few tips and you will see a definite and 'Explosive Increase in the Success of your Email Campaigns'. ABOUT THE AUTHOR A.T.Rendon is an entrepreneur and published writer. Ways to get your website noticed
|
|
by: Maui Reyes
|
| Your website is just one of the
billion sites parked on the World Wide Web. Chances are, you don’t think yours
will ever get noticed. We hear your cries for cyber attention. Here are five ways to get people clicking on to your site. 1.) Make sure it’s professional looking. No one likes looking at website that reminds them of a book report they wrote back in school. Invest in learning a good web design program (Dreamweaver MX and Microsoft Frontpage are good picks), and let your creative juices flow. Make sure it’s compelling, well-designed, and organized. People don’t exactly find it fun to weed through haystacks of cyberfiles to get the information that they want. On that note, don’t make it a heavy site. Putting up some flash intros may be great eye candy, but the average internet surfer only waits 10 seconds for a page to load, and then they’re off to the next. 2.) Put your URL on every search engine possible. Putting your URL on business cards and bugging your family and friends to check out your site won’t exactly increase traffic. Submitting it to search engines will make it easier for people to find you, provided that your webpage carries the topics they’re looking for. To understand how a search engine works, think of it as a “spider”: it crawls through your website, picking up words and information which would later be indexed in the search engine’s database. So make sure you pepper your site with keywords you think are relevant to what people are looking for. Web directories, like Yahoo!, are operated by humans who actually categorize the websites themselves. If you don’t feel like submitting your website to numerous directories, consider subscribing to sites like www.submit-it.com, who, for a fee, will automatically submit your site to search engines and directories for you. 3.) Link everywhere. Find other sites that carry similar content as yours and ask to exchange links. Create banners to be placed on other peoples’ websites, and offer to the same for them on your site. Add your URL on your e-mail signature. Join webrings if you must—there’s nothing like strength in numbers. 4.) Advertise offline. The world of cyberspace isn’t enough to get you noticed. Write up press releases and send them to local newspapers and magazines. Print out fliers to be distributed. Just make sure that your site is already up and running to avoid giving people a bad impression (no one likes getting pumped up for something only to get disappointed). 5.) Interact with your readers. Put up forums or message boards for your visitors to interact with each other. Chat rooms are often time-consuming for some, while message boards allows them to check back every so often for replies. Create an e-mail list so you can update your visitors about new developments, and always be open to feedback—that’s what will make your site even better. Simple Ways To Save A Bunch Of Money When Buying A New
Computer!
|
|
by: Kris Bickell
|
| Looking to buy a new computer?
Overwhelmed by all of the options available to you? Stressed by the high cost of computers today? For most people, buying a new computer does not have to be as stressful as buying a new car. Nor does it have to be as expensive. If you’re like most people, and you have a limited budget for buying a computer, then you need to try to get as much computer for your money as possible. Here are 3 simple ways anyone can save money when buying a new computer: 1) Shop around for best deal. Sounds pretty obvious. But many people don’t realize they don’t need the fastest, most expensive computer with the most “extras”. In fact, if you are already using an older computer, even the least expensive new computer will be a big upgrade. If you don’t know a lot about computers, you can learn a lot by shopping around. Ask lots of questions, compare prices, compare features, then find the best price. Shop at your local electronics store, and look for the best deals online. You’ll be surprised at how much money you can save by shopping around! 2) Install your own “extras” Many computers you will find in a store have a lot of extra software already installed. While this is convenient, it is not always the best way for you to save money. Also, while many of these extras sound good, you don’t always need them. You can often find better deals by shopping around separately for your own software extras (such as a word processor, anti-virus, popup blocker, spyware removal, games, etc). And some of these you can get for free. So before you buy the “fully loaded” computer, ask yourself if you really need all the extras, then shop around to see if you can buy a scaled down computer - and get the extras yourself for much less! 3) Don’t buy extended warranty If you are not a computer “techie”, the extended warranties offered by the computer retailers often sound like a good idea. After all, who wants to be bothered paying for service on a computer after you buy it. But keep in mind that most computers come with a warranty, and most computer problems will either happen at the beginning (when you still have the warranty in effect) or much later (when it might be cheaper to buy a new computer). Technology changes very quickly these days. So consider whether or not it’s worth the inflated price of the extended warranty. And, if you really feel you need the extended warranty, then ask to purchase it at a lower price. Not all retailers will negotiate on the warranty, but some will. And whether you buy the extended warranty or not, make sure you back up all your files periodically, just in case! If you have an unlimited budget, consider yourself lucky. And if you do business on the computer, make sure you get what you need, while trying to keep the price down. At any price, buying something that does not fit your needs is not a good deal. Hope you find these tips helpful, and happy computer shopping! Quick Ideas Anybody Can Use to Make Beautiful
Scrapbooks
|
|
by: Lena Fields
|
| 1. Vellum Vellum is a transparent, translucent material. Vellum can be used to create a slight shadow or shade change to background or embellishment colors. This can be used as a softening agent for baby scrapbooks, as a touch of elegance to gift scrapbooks, or to create dimension in a boring flat page. To reduce the cloudiness effect caused by gluing, apply only a thin line of glue along the edges of the vellum. In this way, you will see a slight shadow only along the very edge. This will look like a border to the vellum. Vellum is available in both acidic and non acidic forms. 2. Shadow Boxes A great way to add depth to your scrapbook page is to add shadow boxes. Basically shadow boxes add a shadow to your images. Shadow boxes are also a great way to make your most important photographs or text boxes stand out form the rest of the page. Shadow boxes can also be to emphasis dedications. To make a shadow box, simply cut a box shape out of paper. Next, put your embellishment on a larger square of cardstock. Then, add glue to all four sides of the cardstock square and attach it to the back of your paper. The embellishment will show through, adding greater dimension to your page. 3. Patterned Paper Patterned paper can be used for backgrounds, borders, and embellishments. Often plain white backgrounds look rather boring and dull. Patterned backgrounds add a touch of excitement to your page. The right pattern tailored to your theme and purpose can also increase that professional look. Colors and patterns can be used to coordinate with your photographs or to add dramatic effects. Paper with various themes and patterns is widely available. For instance, a birthday scrapbook could have a background made of your favorite gift wrap. This could add a touch of elegance or a touch of humor depending upon the patterned paper you choose. 4. Textured Paper Textured paper can add extra dimension to your scrapbooking page. Textured paper can be used to highlight focus items on your scrapbook page. Textured paper can also be used as a backgrounds or border to give your page an interesting fresh look. Textured paper is available in a variety of textures and colors and is available in most craft and office supply stores. 5. Book Jacket Backgrounds For an added personal touch and artist flair use a book jacket as a background. This scrapbook technique looks especially nice when the book jacket is the reader's favorite book or author, adding a wonderful personalized touch. Be aware, however, that the glossy coating on the book jacket creates an added challenge to sticking objects to this background. Alternative attachment methods include sewing and eyelets. 6. Adding Dimension One good way to add dimension to images is to use double stick foam tape. Double stick foam tape literally allows items to pop out at your reader adding realism to items. This technique is especially useful in children's art and educational scrapbooks. Simply, cut the foam tape into whatever shape and size you want. Then, attach to shape onto your scrapbook page. Double stick foam tape is available at most craft stores in various colors and thicknesses. 7. Ribbons and Lace Ribbon and lace are by far the most common, and most beautiful, border embellishment. The flowing nature of both materials encourages a touch of softness and elegance. Ribbon and lace are especially popular in gift and memory scrapbooks. Moreover, ribbon is easy to glue and attach. Lace requires a bit more patience. For an interesting change from ribbon and lace, try using jute or raffia. Fast Weight Loss…Can you really lose 60lbs in 30 days? |
|
by: adrian bryant
|
| Is it better to lose 2lbs a day or 2lbs a
week? Yes it’s very possible that you can lose 60lbs in 30 days but I don’t think you would want to and here’s the reason why: Let’s say you do lose 60lbs in 30 days… how much of that weight you lose do you think is going to be pure body fat? Remember-- body fat makes us look ugly. Anytime you try to lose more than 2lbs a week or 60lbs in 30 days (2lbs a day!)…A larger part of the weight you lose is only going to be water and muscle. Losing a lot of water and muscle weight does nothing to improve your looks and it slows down your metabolism Slow metabolism = easier weight gain Every time you see a weight loss ad that’s too good to be true…the ad is basically saying “Hey you can lose 60lbs in 30 days but some of that weight you lose is going to be water and muscle weight” Whenever you are trying to lose weight (body fat) for good and look your very best you definitely do not want to lose any muscle. Every time you lose muscle your metabolism slows down. A slower metabolism makes it easier for you to gain weight As a matter of fact you may be one of those people who gain weight just by looking at food. The reason for your easy weight gain is that you probably don’t have that much muscle to begin with and when you try to lose 60lbs overnight you are only going to lose more muscle making it very easy for to gain all the weight back you just lost! The more muscle you have the better you look. Even if you had two people of the same height & weight but both had different amounts of muscle in their bodies--the person who has the most muscle will always look better. Are the outrageous claims that the weight loss ads make true? Can you lose 60lbs in 30 days or 10lbs overnight? The answer isn’t No but a big Maybe. But if you do happen to lose 60lbs in 30 days you’re only going to look worse (because of the muscle you lose) and you’re going to gain it all back quicker than you lost it (because you’re metabolism is slower now that you lost muscle) What if you have to lose 10lbs in one week to pass a physical exam? In this case you may have no choice but to go on “Dr. whoever’s rice cake diet” to lose 10lbs in a week. All you’re looking for in that situation is a quick fix to your weight loss problem. But if you want to lose weight for good, look your best, & keep your metabolism burning at a steady rate… You got to lose weight at a much slower rate. You want to try to lose no more than 2lbs a week or 3lbs at the most when you want to lose weight permanently. Usually when you lose anything over 2lbs a week you are only losing water and muscle weight which again has no effect on long-term weight loss or significantly improving the way you look. Losing 2lbs a week is a lot simpler than trying to lose 10lbs a week. One of the things you can do to start losing 2lbs a week is to substitute higher calorie foods you eat with lower calorie foods. For example a simple trick that I have most of my clients do is to replace all the sodas and juices they drink with water. The drinking water trick is taken very lightly by a lot of people---but many of my clients tell me that they see a difference in their weight after drinking only water for a couple of weeks. The other thing you can do is to increase your daily physically activity. This doesn’t mean that you have to start signing up for marathons regularly. To gradually increase your physical activity you can-- * Park in the back of parking lots so you have to walk more to your destination * You can take the stairs instead of the elevator—it doesn’t have to be all the flights…walk some flights and take the elevator the rest of the way. * Play golf or play with your kids everyday The point is to just do something…It doesn’t have to a lot at first but after about a couple weeks start to take 20-30minitue walks in the park or ride a bicycle everyday. Long-term weight loss doesn’t happen in 60 days or overnight… it happens in the Long-term. Just remember that the next time you see a weight loss ad that promises you unbelievable results. | Are you suffering from Body acne? or Zits
below the neckline? Don't worry. You are not alone! Lot's of teen get body acne.
It is common in the winter months, when you are wearing piles of heavy
clothing. Sweat can clog skin pores and lead to breakouts all over. Other things that can cause body acne are tight fitting clothing ( It traps sweat against the skin, leading to clogged pores and blemishes) stress and hormones. Body acne commonly pops up on the chest and back. Ø To zap body acne and prevent it from coming back, you can wash your body daily with a salicylic acid based cleanser. Look for this ingredient on product labels. Ø Shower daily and be sure to shower as soon as possible anytime you have been sweating - such as after playing sports, working outside or just being in the sun. After your shower, you can follow up by a body moisturizer that contains Alfa Hydroxy acid. This will exfoliate skin and help prevent breakouts, without drying skin out. Ø At Nighttime you can treat body acne just like facial acne, by applying an acne zapping gel or cream at the effected parts. Ø If your body acne is particularly bad and wont respond to this treatment after about a month, you will probably need to see a dermatologist. Audio Streaming 1
Most visitors to your website are using computers with audio capabilities. Recently introduced techniques make it easy to take advantage of this capability.
In the past, web audio was primarily decorative, consisting of musical fanfares or other clichéd sound effects. Now, you can use audio to multiply the impact of your message and create stronger bonds with your visitors.
Audio’s power comes from its ability to engage more of your visitor’s senses. The more senses you engage, the easier it will be to effectively communicate. Instead of just reading your words and looking at your picture, you can communicate with your voice – and the voices of your clients.
The power of audio can be appreciated by comparing the newspaper column version of Tom and Ray Magliozzi’s Car Talk with the program aired each week on National Public Radio. Although the newspaper column and radio program address the same topics, it’s far more fun to listen to Car Talk – where you can experience Tom and Ray’s intonations and phrasing – than to read the same words.
Here are some of the ways you can employ audio on your website:
- Welcoming messages. You can create closer emotional bonds with website
visitors by personally welcoming them to your site and introducing some of the
features they should explore.
- Testimonials. Audio testimonials are far more powerful that written
testimonials, especially if you include a photograph of the individual speaking
the testimonial. The next best thing to a face-to-face referral is a recording
of a client explaining their satisfaction with your product in their own words.
- Guarantees. Your satisfaction guarantees gain impact when you deliver them
in your own voice. Place them on your order form, at the point of sale. People
are inherently cautious about ordering products and services from the Internet.
Reassure them that their credit card and personal information are safe with you.
- Seminars and teleconferences. Short excerpts about upcoming events can make
your event even more appealing. Snippets from past seminars can whet visitors’
appetites for more.
- Tips. Add interest to your site by describing an audio ‘tip of the day’ or
‘tip of the week’ in your own words. Be sure to offer access to previous tips,
too.
- Audio postcards. You can include audio invitations and testimonials as links
in email sent to clients and prospects. To arrange an audio testimonial, simply
provide your client with a phone number and password, and invite them to call up
and express their satisfaction with their purchase from you. Audio postcards are
a great way to stay in contact with your clients and prospects with an
announcement of an upcoming product or service. They are also a quick way to
acknowledge a special occasion.
- Streaming audio can be used to allow visitors to playback longer events, like seminars or teleconferences.
When you add audio to your website, allow your visitors to maintain control. Don’t begin playing your message when the webpage loads. Instead, invite visitors to ‘click here’ to hear your voice. Keep your messages as short and concise as possible.
And avoid ‘scripting’ your introductions and guarantees. Write down the key ideas you want to communicate, but deliver them in your own words as conversationally as possible.
Web audio is no longer a futuristic luxury. Web audio is here now and it’s as close as your telephone. It is an affordable and easily added feature that can set you apart from the competition and help communicate your message with added impact.
